We The Change — A CSAS Sponsored Initiative
Who They Are

A Grassroots Force for Women's Dignity in India

We The Change (WTC) is a New Delhi–based nonprofit founded by sibling duo Farheen Naaz and Abu Sufiyan. Born from a chance encounter during Covid-19 relief work — when a woman quietly asked if anyone was distributing sanitary pads — WTC has grown into a frontline organisation fighting period poverty, menstrual stigma, and women's economic exclusion across India.

With zero corporate pedigree and enormous heart, Farheen and Sufiyan built WTC from the ground up: distributing hygiene kits, training communities, empowering unskilled women with income-generating skills, and educating men and children on consent and gender respect.

"Everyone is distributing rations — but no one is distributing sanitary pads."

— The moment that sparked We The Change, West Delhi, 2020

The Founders

Abu Sufiyan

Co-Founder & Operations Lead

A rare male voice in the menstrual equity space, Sufiyan brings operational rigor and the conviction that gender justice requires men to be active participants — not bystanders.

Why CSAS Sponsors WTC

Catalytic Support for Under-Recognised Work

CSAS selectively backs high-potential initiatives that may not easily attract traditional funding. We The Change is exactly the kind of ground-level, values-aligned work we exist to support — and your donation makes that possible.

01

Shared Values of Dignity & Justice

WTC's work on women's health, economic empowerment, and community education aligns directly with CSAS's mission to strengthen civic institutions and empower South Asian communities.

02

Grassroots Impact, Proven Track Record

In a short time, WTC has reached tens of thousands with minimal institutional backing — a sign of deep community trust and outstanding operational leadership.

03

Bridge Between Diaspora & Ground-Level Change

CSAS's sponsorship enables the South Asian diaspora in the US to invest directly in women-led, community-rooted change happening in India right now.

04

Catalytic Philanthropy in Practice

WTC's growth stage is exactly the moment where external support has the highest leverage. Your donation doesn't supplement a program — it sustains and scales one.
